Since its founding in 2001, Zonar has emerged as a leading provider of vehicle technology solutions by working with its customers to increase safety for everyone on the road. Their products fuel operating efficiency and empower their clients to realize significant cost savings.

Like Zonar, we believe that the best business outcomes result from working in close partnership with our clients. So we seized on Zonar’s move to align their physical environment with their operational aspirations and deliver a workplace flexible enough to accommodate a fluid workforce while serving as an asset to recruit and retain top talent.

Our initial investigation into Zonar’s present and future workplace requirements revealed the need for an additional 40 workstations beyond the originally anticipated count. We explored how best to rework the limited floorplate without delaying the construction timeline and proposed to transform a large lunch room into a multi-function facility that could easily convert into a training or presentation space.

Aesthetically, our design team was challenged to preserve the space’s Art Deco ceilings and terrazzo floors while integrating the vibrant brand of a 21st-century technology firm. In response, our designers reimagined the elevator lobby as a hip amenity space that features original historic accents yet appeals to the millennial talent. The lounge, reminiscent of a boutique hotel, is complete with billiard tables, video games and contemporary seating that invites the casual exchange of ideas.
