Contact UsSan Diego headquarters pays homage to the buildings history and creates a modern cross functional home to traditional finance team.
We broke down all barriers such as walls and doors in order to increase collaborative collisions. A preponderance of meeting areas were created, increasing the capacity to create formal and ad-hoc opportunities. The design pays homage to the buildings former home of the San Diego Union – Tribune where editors and journalists worked and housed all printing presses since 1973.
The space incorporates custom wallpaper displaying old Union newspaper clippings and uses similar woods and metals that were found throughout the plant. The interior design has an industrial loft-style feel, featuring exposed brick, 14-foot ceilings along with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
The project finished with a reduced schedule of two weeks and now sets the global standard for all of this client’s future work environments. Financial employees now feel a sense of community at work and are proud to work at their new headquarters. The space helps with recruiting as well as retaining top talent and fosters a stronger company culture.
